Head Of Procurement

Concept are delighted to be partnered with an existing client of ours on an extremely important appointment for them - Head Of Procurement.

This leadership position will see you support a solid, medium sized procurement team. The successful candidate will support, encourage, and nurture excellent procurement and contract management practices across their immediate team and the wider stakeholder group.

You will ensure continuous procurement improvement and offer guidance on works, goods, and services for all departments.

In your role as Head of Procurement, you will be required to plan and design a strategic approach to operational delivery, improving levels of service to ensure optimal and consistent delivery.

• Strategic responsibility for all contracting and purchasing, including tendering and award management for all generalist indirect categories.
• Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
• Offer professional advice and support to senior managers on procurement.
• Representation of the organisation on national and regional groups, contributing to the development of regional and national contracts.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, particularly European Union Directives related to procurement.
• Establish and manage contract monitoring procedures for evaluation and corrective action.

• You will have procurement leadership experience and/or senior category management experience in procurement within a public sector procurement environment.
• You will be a proven influencer who naturally builds rapport and is comfortable developing strong relationships at a senior level.
• You will be degree level educated in a relevant subject or senior management-level work experience in Procurement and Contracting.
• You will have solid public sector procurement experience covering all indirect categories.

The successful person will be joining an amazing organisation with a role that has true variety. The role requires someone to be onsite 3 days a week so travel to Leicestershire is a must. The opportunity offers up to £80,000 + benefits.
